The Queen size Library bed measures 75"W x 92"H x 28"D when closed. The bed extends 111" when open.

No the mattress is not included in the price.

What is the open width total.

The wall bed measures 79"W x 92"H x 28"D.
The opening accomodates a Queen size matress which measures 60"W x 80"L.

I know this sounds obvious but I hope someone has solved the problem I would have with this beautiful piece of furniture. Since the bed is hidden it won't be used all the time. Since it is a beautiful bookcase, most of the time I want to put books in it. Do I have to remove all the books to set up the bed?

It is not necessary to remove items from the shelves.
The shelves fold back out of the way and do not affect the function of the bed.

How deep are the shelves and are the height adjustable?

Hello, The bookcases have two fixed shelves that are set 25" apart; the remaining three shelves are adjustable. The wall beds are only for purchase in Arizona. We cannot ship and install outsidde of Arizona. Regards, Oak Arizona

Can you verify the distance from the support wall to the end of a queen mattress when the bed is open. The mattress is about 80" long, so if the bed extends 111" into the room as indicated in one of your answers below, that means it starts 31" away from the wall?
